Holiday Marketing Ideas for the Christmas Season

  • If you're an online retailer, make sure your website reflects that it's that time of year. A major design overhaul isn't necessary. A few touches of deep red and green, and maybe a wreath or a few snowflakes will give the immediate visual that you're ready for the Christmas shopping season.

  • Christmas cards to your customers are always a good idea, but imprinted holiday cards lack a personalized feel. Get more marketing mileage out of them by adding a short, handwritten message on them. Keep it simple. Let your customers know that you appreciate them.

  • For an eye-catching brochure, go with a circular shape with the design of a Christmas wreath on the front. Or, opt for one that resembles a wrapped gift. A squarish or rectangular shape would work. In either case, it gives you the custom look of a die cut without the cost.

  • Consider holiday budgets. Make it easy for your customers to find what they're looking for price-wise by linking to pages with Gifts Under $10, for example.

  • Call your customers and wish them a Happy Holiday or Merry Christmas. Thank them for their business. That's it. No sales pitch. It might not be a unique marketing idea, but it's close.

Chances are, you'll be the only business from which your customers will receive such a call. So, they'll remember it. And some are likely to mention it to others.

Another bonus? It doesn't cost you anything but a couple of minutes of your time.
